The second leg of the PEMA Historic Acropolis Rally Regularity has concluded, with Christian Crucifix \u2013 Agnieszka Bohosiewicz maintaining their lead in their 1985 Peugeot 205. Saturday\u2019s leg was the most demanding of the rally, featuring a total of 12 Precision Tests over 405 kilometers.<\/p>\n

The participants set off on the morning of Saturday, September 6, from Ancient Olympia, where the rally sponsor, PEMA Corporation, had organized a beautiful celebration in their honor. After a series of tests, they crossed the Gulf of Corinth via the Rio\u2013Antirrio Bridge and passed through picturesque villages in Aetolia-Acarnania and Evrytania. The leg concluded with the night marathon PEMA test.<\/p>\n

In the competitive field, the 2021 winner, Belgian Christian Crucifix, this year with Polish co-driver Agnieszka Bohosiewicz, resisted the pressure from rivals and remained at the top. In the final leg, the duo will aim to avoid mistakes to add another victory to their already impressive record. A thrilling battle is unfolding for second place, with Gerasimos Katochianos\u2013Georgios Katochianos in their 1981 Ford Fiesta MKI surpassing Aris Georgosopoulos\u2013Nikos Kontopou in the Fiat 128 Rally 1971 during the last test. Both crews will continue their duel on Sunday, while Giorgos Georgakopoulos\u2013Tasos Douros are not to be overlooked. With their 1968 BLMC Mini, the duo climbed several positions on Saturday and will aim for a podium spot. In fifth place at Karpenisi are Georgi Andonov\u2013Yordanka Andonova with a 1979 Volvo 244 GLE, who still have a shot at improving their position on Sunday. Ioannis Katsaounis\u2013Ioulios Iatridis, in a 1979 Volkswagen Golf I, gained two positions in the second leg and are now sixth, ahead of last year\u2019s winners Vasos Theodosiou\u2013Konstantinos Pipero with a 1974 Lancia Beta Coupe.<\/p>\n

The two-time Greek Regularity champions Christos Chatzikostantinou\u2013Manolis Dimakareas started Saturday energetically, initially climbing to second place, but later fell to eighth in the overall standings. One position behind are Kyriakos Farmakis\u2013Maria Athanasopoulou in a 1963 Volvo 122 S, followed by Dimitris Poriotis\u2013Michalis Sietto with a 1979 Toyota Starlet KP60. Eleftherios Liakos\u2013Dimitris Liakos, third after the first leg with a 1975 Ford Escort, dropped to 11th, followed by Iosif Lagakis\u2013Nikitas Tsalikis in a 1992 Subaru Legacy.<\/p>\n

Sunday\u2019s route covers a total of 255 kilometers. Competitors will start in the morning from Karpenisi and finish in the afternoon at Delphi, where the prize-giving ceremony will take place.<\/p>\n
