After 28 Regularity tests and over 1000 kilometers, the <\/strong>PEMA<\/strong> Historic Acropolis Rally <\/strong>Regularity<\/strong> came to an end. The 49 crews that started the third round of the Greek Regularity Championship began their magical \u201cjourney\u201d on Friday, September 5, under the Sacred Rock of the Acropolis. After crossing a total of 9 regions of Greece, they finished in Delphi on the afternoon of Sunday, September 7. The award ceremony took place at the Frynichos Theater of the European Cultural Center of Delphi, offering a finale worthy of the sporting and cultural heritage of the Historic Acropolis Rally.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

The winners were Christian<\/strong> Crucifix<\/strong> \u2013 <\/strong>Agnieszka<\/strong> Bohosiewicz<\/strong> with a 1985 Peugeot 205. The Belgian driver, winner of the event also in 2021, took the lead early in the event, temporarily lost it, but from the middle of the first leg onwards was unchallenged, driving steadily to the top of the podium with the invaluable guidance of his Polish co-driver. With a total of 80.4 penalty points, the experienced crew also won Category <\/strong>J<\/strong>1<\/strong>, which is for historic cars manufactured between 1982 and 1987. On the second step of the podium were Gerasimos Katochianos-Georgios Katochianos<\/strong> with a 1981 Ford Fiesta MKI and 88.5 penalty points, also finishing at the top of Category I<\/strong> (cars from 1977 to 1981). The crew gained several positions in the second leg of the race, the most demanding, and on Sunday, with the right strategy, managed to remain in second place.<\/p>\n

With a consistent comeback, Georgios Georgakopoulos-Tasos Douros<\/strong> completed the PEMA Historic Acropolis Rally Regularity in third place driving a 1968 BLMC Mini. The experienced crew scored a total of 92.9 penalty points, managing in the final stages to climb one position in the overall ranking and also celebrate victory in Category <\/strong>G<\/strong>, for cars manufactured between 1966 and 1971. The performance of Ioannis Katsaounis-Ioulis Iatridis<\/strong> in this year\u2019s PEMA Historic Acropolis Rally Regularity was also notable, as their 1979 Volkswagen Golf I finished fourth overall with 111.6 penalty points, while also securing second place in Category I.<\/strong> One place behind overall were the winners of Category <\/strong>F<\/strong>, Kyriakos Farmakis-Maria Athanasopoulou<\/strong> with 112.2 penalty points.<\/p>\n

The crew moved up four positions in the final leg, earning valuable championship points with a 1963 Volvo 122S (Amazon). Last year\u2019s winners, Vasos Theodossiou-Konstantinos Piperos<\/strong>, settled for sixth place with 115.2 penalty points. With a 1974 Lancia Beta Coupe, they gained one position in the overall ranking on Sunday and won Category H<\/strong>, for historic cars from 1972-1976. Aris Georgosopoulos-Nikos Kontopos<\/strong>, driving a 1971 Fiat 128 Rally, dropped four positions in the last leg. The winners of the recent Monte Vostitsa Regularity Rally finished seventh overall and second in Category G<\/strong> with 117.8 penalty points.<\/p>\n

Eighth overall and second in Category J1 completed this year\u2019s PEMA Historic Acropolis Rally Regularity were Christos Chatzikonstantinou-Manolis Dimakareas<\/strong> with a 1985 Volkswagen Golf I. The two-time Greek Champions lost ground on Saturday and could not contest victory in the third championship race of the year. They were followed by Eleftherios and Dimitrios Liakos<\/strong> with a 1975 Ford Escort. Despite their ideal start on Friday that brought them to third overall, they lost some positions and finished second in Category H.<\/strong> Completing the top ten were Iosif Lagakis-Nikitas Tsalikis<\/strong> with a 1992 Subaru Legacy, winning Category <\/strong>J<\/strong>2<\/strong>, for cars manufactured between 1988 and 1992.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Following them were Nikolaos Poulieris-Aris Papakonstantinou<\/strong> with a 1990 Renault 19, finishing second in Category J2, and Selim<\/strong> Bacioglu<\/strong>–<\/strong>Hamdan<\/strong> Bacioglu<\/strong>, who took third place in Category J1 with a 1983 Volkswagen Golf. Slightly behind were the third-place finishers in Category I, Stavros Paraskevaidis-Nikos Darzentas<\/strong> with a 1978 Ford Escort MKII, followed by the all-female crew Georgia Pouli-Chrysoula Tsilivigkou<\/strong>, who finished third in Category J2. Several positions were lost in the third leg by Dimitris Poriotis-Michalis Siettos<\/strong> (Toyota Starlet-1979) and Georgi Andonov-Yordanka Andonova<\/strong> (Volvo 244 GLE-1979).<\/p>\n

The podium in Category G was completed by the PEMA Racing crew, Triantafyllos Tzanetis-Stavros Katsounakis<\/strong> (Peugeot 304-1971), while in Category E, for cars up to 1961, Dimitris Bakos-Anastasios Tsagkarakis<\/strong> successfully finished in Delphi with a 1955 Mercedes-Benz 190 SL. Third in Category H were the winners of the 2023 Historic Acropolis Rally Regularity, Thanos Ntzoumanis-Vasileios Tsobanidis<\/strong> with an Alfa Romeo Spider 2000. In Category<\/strong> K<\/strong> (cars from 1993-2000), the only participants were Ilias Lalousis-Konstantinos Kotsiris<\/strong> with a 1999 Peugeot 306 GTI.<\/p>\n
