Regularity News PEMA Acropolis Historic Rally Regularity: All Set for the Acropolis challenge!

On the afternoon of Thursday, September 4th, the Administrative and Technical Scrutineering for the Regularity category of the PEMA Acropolis Historic Rally took place at the OMAE facilities. The event serves as the second round of the Greek Regularity Championship, featuring a coefficient of 2 and a total of 28 precision special stages. A total of 49 cars successfully passed scrutineering and will take the start ramp at 13:00 on Friday, September 5th, in the iconic shadow of the Acropolis.

On Friday, September 5, at 13:00, the ceremonial start will take place beneath the Acropolis, with participants heading via Attiki Odos to Corinth. A restart will occur at the city’s central square, with a welcome celebration by the local community.

Next, a pioneering Calibration Test will be conducted, which will not count toward the overall classification. The rally will then proceed to Achaia, specifically the coastal town of Akrata, passing locations like Kleitoria, Kontovazaina, and the Erymanthos Bridge, ending in Ancient Olympia—a city with roots in global sports and culture. The evening will feature dinner and a local celebration.

The second leg starts on Saturday, September 6, from Ancient Olympia. Competitors will traverse routes combining Greece’s natural beauty, history, and tradition. Returning to Achaia through villages such as Petsakoi, Fteri, and Selinountas, they will cross the Rio–Antirrio Bridge, offering breathtaking views of the Gulf of Patras and the Corinthian Gulf. The rally continues through Aetolia-Acarnania via Thermo, then to the mountainous villages of Evrytania, including Prousos. A marathon night stage of over 40 km around Mount Velouchi provides a unique challenge. The day ends in Karpenisi, a stunning mountain destination offering authentic Greek hospitality.

On Sunday, September 7, at 09:00, participants depart from Karpenisi, driving through landscapes of exceptional beauty. Passing through Fokida villages like Krikelo, Domnista, and Arachova, the rally concludes in legendary Delphi, considered the “navel of the world” by the ancient Greeks. Amid a setting of immense historical and natural significance, the PEMA Historic Acropolis Rally Regularity ends.

The award ceremony will take place at the European Cultural Centre of Delphi, Frynichos Theater, at 18:30, closing the event with honor and celebration.

Overall, the rally covers over 1,000 km, including 423 km with 28 Regularity Precision Tests, offering an exciting challenge. The 2025 PEMA Historic Acropolis Rally Regularity is not just a competition but a journey through Greece’s history, culture, and landscapes.
